The flying organisation is divided into one flight unit for propeller operations and one for jet aircraft. All flying operations are led by the SwAFHF Chief Pilot (“Flygchef”), who directly manages the jet operations but has delegated certain tasks concerning propeller flying to a designated group leader. In total, the flight department consists of about ten pilots (including the Chief Pilot and the Deputy Chief Pilot), who take part, to a greater or lesser extent, in air shows.

The part of SwAFHF that handles aircraft maintenance is divided into two organisations: one responsible for the airworthiness of the aircraft, and one that carries out the hands-on maintenance. Both organisations are approved by the Swedish Transport Agency. In total, SwAFHF is responsible for and maintains 16 aircraft (2020). The organisation responsible for airworthiness consists of a few people, all based at Såtenäs. The workshop organisation, on the other hand, consists of about 30 members spread over three locations: Såtenäs, Trollhättan and Västerås. Most of these technicians and mechanics work on propeller aircraft in Trollhättan. At Såtenäs, where maintenance of all the jet aircraft takes place, a smaller number of members are based. However, this group includes two full-time technicians.
In Västerås there is a smaller workshop branch with a few technicians for the maintenance of three aircraft.
